Thanks for the extra info on Chiburi, I’d seen characters using it in films such as Azumi, and had wondered about the precise movements involved. Being a pragmatic individual, I’d probably just bring a rag with me, but the ritualistic look of the practice fascinates me.

    That’s a nice edge!

@Jammin4uo Please make a highlight trailer or these kids will continue to be confused as to the purpose of these great getting fit & having fun learning something at the same time fun fitness videos. The 1000 cut videos later in the series really show how one can use these videos to improve fitness with its stamina building cardio workout moves. (Much better then a treadmill or eliptical.)
Without a trailer to "inspire" all these disrespectful kids will not be inspired to learn & get fit. =(

  7. Jammin4uo says:

These lessons are great!!! Tho just like games, gamers need trailers of the COOL highlights of the skills that will come later in the lessons to inspire a reason to respect the teacher. ..Also, You out of shape gamers should appreciate TGN for a fitness show constructed for us gaming fans to exercise & actually learn something useful at the same time & to get fit in the process.

I really like these Sword episodes but please make a trailer of the teacher to "inspire" like video-games. -continued

@Agindacake It can’t possibly be a "good" or "normal" lesson. There is no-one and no way for anyone to correct or refine your technique, there is no feedback, there is no control over your execution of the waza, and more. And people do train for years to get a modicum of skill, let alone mastery… and, as Dana Abbott here demonstrates, people can train for years and not even begin to approach skill, knowledge, or understanding. Sigh, these things make me sad….

  11. Agindacake says:

@dgmgl I have been watching for quite some time and even though I did never practice this I just though, how could this be a normal and good lesson. Normally people train years for the mastery of the sword I would guess.

  12. DaveNeeley says:

@mertibert, Dana Abbott has always claimed to be a Shihan in Nakamura Ryu, yet no one in that organization will confirm that, and he has yet to produce any documentation to that effect. The only Shihan recognition he has is from the Black Belt Hall of Infamy, which is basically a mutual recognition society, or a big circle jerk!

  13. HargonTV says:

I don’t see what this possibly has to do with gaming. I find the show a nice idea in general.. but all I keep thinking is, quite frankly, WTF.
It’s just so out of place on this channel… unless you want us to think playing with swords counts as playing a game (as that could be the only connection to gaming I can really think of). xD

  14. WJS6495 says:

I would much rather see Shelby teaching us about swords. She is very cute!

  15. Learnthesword says:

@KillerJam87 If you have any questions about the sword just ask.

Shelby should notto my sword into her mouth

  18. RuiGomes43 says:

The reason why I’m watching this videos, it’s because I want to learn how to kill people, also it looks cool
    Keep it coming!

  19. PCGamingFive0 says:

    @Greywar49 LOL!!! XD

  20. chemicallyelemental says:

girls if you are practicing with a steel sword and don’t quite understand all the subtleties involved u might want to practice with wood just a bit longer. or u could get seriously injured

  21. Greywar49 says:

This is a prime example of "When Hobbies Go Overboard," this is a white guy showing Eastern Arts. He changed his name to something eccentric, and even impregnated an Asian women.
