If you’re hesitating of whether to get into this field because of your senior age, I really do recommend more mature-minded people to go for it because people with more life experiences adds so much more depth and invaluable advices in their counseling sessions for their clients. Older counselors are much more knowledgeable and experienced about life issues, more able to relate to you. I always prefer them over fresh psych grads who got lost because it wasn’t taught in the books.
